These are my top of the line totes, no machines are used for the production of these bags only two hands, centuries old techniques and minimal tools. Each bag is lovingly hand stitched, in a process that takes many hours using a traditional saddle stitch and utilizing Ritza Tiger Thread thats been incased in beeswax. These bags are meant to last and will only get better with age. Truly an heirloom product, I only produce a few of these a year and rarely repeat colors so they are super limited in numbers.
Why hand stitching? the technique used in hand-stitching, unlike a sewing machine, passes both needles and thread completely through each hole and out the opposite side. As a result the thread is effectively woven together so that if the thread should break it is much more difficult for the stitching to unravel, thus keeping seams together. This coupled with super strong beeswaxed encased thread makes for an indestructible bag.
This particular bag features a heavily distressed elephant grey leather with heavy english bridle leather handles and closure and gunmetal rivets. Stitched with black thread.
Leather being a natural organic once living product will have scars and imperfections, a sign of the animals previous life.
